Bending Gutter Hangers

The hanger bending tool is used to bend the j roof hanger.

Mark the hangers for the gutter incline. Press down on the back of the hanger so it clips onto the back edge of the gutter. Once tool is set it will bend each hanger to the exact angle every time. If your gutters don t slope then you only need to adjust the hangers and lower them slightly where necessary to achieve the correct slope. 1 16 to 1 8 per 3 feet. A good guideline is that the pitch should cause a decrease somewhere between 1 to 2 inches over a 40 foot run. Mount hanger 1 low hanger and proceed to fasten the others in order.

Lower the front end of the hanger into the gutter and fit it underneath the front lip of the gutter. You can buy gutter hangers from your local hardware store. The j hanger needs to be bent to the pitch of the roof. Measure from the roof edge at both ends of the gutter if you want to be sure.
