The bending of glass sheets on a skeleton is a technique ordinarily used to bend glass sheets and in particular to bend simultaneously the two glass sheets intended to form a bent laminated glazing such as a transport vehicle windshield. Remember to wait until the initial bend in the acrylic has completely cooled before attempting another bend in the same sheet of acrylic. This renders the glass soft and malleable so that it can be shaped according to the contours of the mold.

However glass rods and tubing is easy to bend and frequently done by artists and people working in laboratories. It is produced in various thicknesses and tints. Plexiglas is a trade name for one of several acrylic sheets used as a transparent construction material and it is a shatter proof substitute for glass. Moving it while it is still warm and flexible will cause it to lose the bend.

In order to bend a sheet of glass it is placed in a metal mold and then reheated. In this technique the two glass sheets laid on one another with insertion of a suitable separating agent. All you need is a flame. To create bends for small scale projects in plexiglass perspex or acrylic 1 8 inch and thinner you can use a small torch butane kitchen torches work well a paint stripping heat gun or an embossing heat tool which is a wand that works very similarly to a paint stripping gun but using a smaller more directed heat flow with a smaller fan.
